Looks like baby #3 will arrive on....

March 21st! We had another ultrasound today to find out how big the new baby is. We were hoping for something around 5-1/2 pounds, but boy were we surprised to hear they think he is already 7 lbs., 7 ounces! Whoa Nellie, we have a big'un!

So the plan now is to do a scheduled C-section on the 21st and wonder if he will be more or less than 9 lbs.! What do you think?

Here is a picture of the little guy from this morning's ultrasound...

Does Ashton need another pet?

Ashton's school is just across the road from a farm. And every so often, her class will walk over there to see a newly-born animal or pick strawberries or learn about something farmy. Last week, she got the chance to go see 5-day old goats! She was very excited about the goats, too. Now that we have a dog and a cat running around our house, why not add a goat to the mix? It could help keep my grass cut during the summer and would give us a permanent supply of milk (albeit a bit chewy).

I doubt Lynell would want a goat walking around eating her hand towels, but you never know.

Here is a picture of Ashton. And a goat.

Valentine's Day!

Well, I sure did get a surprise this morning at work! I was sitting at my desk when all of a sudden, Ashton and Ethan round the corner with Lynell close behind. They came to see my on Valentine's Day with a homemade bouquet of chocolate-dipped strawberries! How creative is my wife?!? She did everything herself (I'm assuming the kids helped test the strawberries out, since they both had two before they left here). It was so thoughtful of her!

She's the best!

More pictures of the kids

We snapped this awesome shot of the kids yesterday before church. Lynell think Ethan's hair looks too slicked down, but I think it is cute! And of course, Ashton is the belle of the ball with those locks and blue eyes. Is it too early to lock her in her room?

Here is Ashton's room, too. Can you tell she is a girl? I don't think we could have put more flowers or pink in there, even if we had tried. :)

Ethan finally has a bed!

Ethan has been out of the crib for a long time, it seems, but we hadn't been able to find him a bed that we liked. So for about 6 months, he has been sleeping on a mattress and box spring, that was supported by bricks! We finally found a bed that we liked and bought it last week. We met some really cool people in the process, but as you can tell from this picture, he is a big fan of his new bed!

Now, we just need to find a dresser and hang some pictures, and his room will be complete! Oh yeah, the fireman ladder over his bed is a Batchelor original. I made it and the kids painted it! Just keep your fingers crossed that Ethan doesn't try to climb on it!

Ashton's class

We feel very lucky that Ashton has been able to be at a good school for her kindergarten year. She has lots of friends and is getting to know all kinds of people from very diverse backgrounds. Best of all, she loves school and is really reading well!

Here are some pictures of her class taken in the last couple of weeks.
